From Maurice Ptito: "This is the situation 1) to guarantee the room the hotel required a credit card number along with the registration. The deadline for registration before we become liable with the number of rooms we booked is April 14. Again, the credit card number is only to guarantee the room and no money has been taken from it! 2) the registration fee of $85 was set to cover some expenses (coffee brakes and the welcoming reception and whatever). A bigger registration fee would have been a burden on the membership and I think that it is higher that the past years. Sylvie had proposed to centralize everything in one place and that the registration fee should be sent to her in form of checks or money order. 3) at this stage, we have 11 people who have registered. I think that if we want to avoid money problem, we should have a list of people who really intend to go. From that list we can easily determine the probable cost. I was wondering if the members could send me an e-mail stating that they will attend the meeting or better they could register now and they have until the 14 of April (or even after) to retract. I will be in StKitts at the beginning of April for an experiment and also to really make sure that everything is smooth. 4) Laurie and I have made a draft of the program and it will be nice if we could fill it up with names of speakers. So those who intend to present a paper at the meeting should send us names and titles (abstract could come later). You'll be happy to know that Leslie Ungerleider and Roger Tootell have accepted to be our guest speakers and have already registered!
To summarize, NO MONEY WILL BE TAKEN FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD UNTIL APRIL 14. AGAIN: CHECK AND REGISTRATION FORM SHOULD BE SENT TO:
