Hearing Research at Wisconsin
The University of Wisconsin is among the best, if not the very best, place in the world for research on hearing. Spanning multiple departments, Wisconsin hearing scientists address virtually every aspect of hearing from molecular biology of hair cells and basilar membrane mechanics to spatial hearing and perception of music and speech.
Hearing researchers share a true collegial community. For over two decades, they have met every Friday morning to share new data and ideas in the Hearing & Donuts seminar. Consistent interaction among hearing researchers serves to make everyone's science stronger. Graduate and postdoctoral students especially benefit from opportunities to learn about many aspects of hearing, and many students take advantage of opportunities to conduct research in more than one laboratory.
