Requirements for Undergraduate Volunteers:
1. It is expected that volunteers commit to approximately 10 hours per week. Most of our positions invovle conducting research off-site and require having a full day free in your schedule (morning till 5:30pm).
2. Register for 695 seminar (1 hour and 15 min meeting once a week). The time of this seminar can vary each semester (typically has been on Wednesdays from 2:30pm-3:45pm or 5:30pm-7pm).
3. At least a 2 semester commitment. Also, for many of the positions it is ideal if the RA is available over the summer.
4. A minimum of a 3.4 GPA (feel free to apply with a lower GPA, but provide an explanation for why your GPA does not meet this cutoff).

Behavioral Tester: The requirements of this position vary depending on the project. Usually, the behavioral tester is asked to greet participants, explain a computer task, and adminster a computer-based questionnaire. In the past, behavioral testers have also administered other tests, like digit backwards, reading tests, and memory tests.
Psychophysiological Tester: Psychophysiology volunteers are required to complete an approximately half-a-semester training before they can run participants. The training is in small groups at a time that is convenient for the group. Additionally, while training, volunteers will shadow more senior lab members in real sessions in order to get oriented to the process. Once training is completed, volunteers run participants in 2.5 hour session; which includes, the psychophysiological setup , running a task on the computer, and administering a computer-based questionnaire.
Interviewer: Interviewers are required to complete approximately two months of training before they can interview indpendently. The training is in small groups at a time that is convenient for the group. After this initial training, volunteers will shadow more senior lab members in real interviews in order to get oriented to the process. Interviews include measurses that assess IQ, reading level, psychopathology, life-history, substance use, etc...
