Since joining the faculty in 2008, I have developed two new undergraduate courses.
Cognitive Development (course number 502/582) is a depth course, which students enroll in after taking an introductory course to Cognition, Development, or other related topics. This course meets in two 75-minute lectures per week plus one 50-minute discussion section, led by a TA (for 502) or myself (for 582). Topics covered include theoretical approaches to cognitive development, as well as basic developmental trajectories in perception, memory, language, concepts, and more. Section enrollment is limited to 16 students each, with up to 112 students enrolled in the lecture.
Development of Perception, Action, and Cognition (course number 411) is a capstone course that follows from cognitive and/or developmental breadth and depth courses. This course meets in two 75-minute meetings and follows a seminar style. Topics covered include prenatal perceptual development, motor development, and visual development. Enrollment is limited to 25 students.
I have also developed a graduate course on the basics of human memory. Feel free to contact me for further information on any of my courses.
