Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Graduate Research Foci

Important Note: The positions listed here are exclusively for students enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There is no payment other than academic credit. You must be a UW-Madison student to apply for these positions.

Listed below are opportunities for undergraduates to participate in your research and thereby earn course credit. Copies of this information are also kept by the Undergraduate Advisor (Arlene Davenport, Room 428) and in the Reading Room.

Notes regarding course credit: Three or four hours of work per week is required for each hour of credit. Students may carry no more than 3 credit hours each semester. Students will read material related to the project, and the student will be expected to produce a piece of written work (evaluated by the faculty member).

Prerequisites: Prerequisites: Enrollment in all undergraduate independent study/research courses requires consent of the instructor. In addition, students must have sophomore, junior, or senior standing.

Opportunities to earn course credit: The faculty members listed below sometimes have opportunities for undergraduates to participate in research in their labs.
