Project description:
There are a variety of fascinating projects students can work on in this lab, most of them
looking at outcome research with various interventions. One project is looking at the efficacy
of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a prominent newer therapy used frequently with individuals
with borderline personality disorder. Another study is focusing on understanding what processes
are important for making therapy work. A newer project is designed to understand the mechanisms
by which Interpersonal Therarpy for depression is effective. Students are sometimes also able to be
trained on how to administer various tests such as neuropsych exams and may even be trained to rate
tapes of therapy sessions. Student tasks can be as dynamic as actual work with clients and
attendance at project planning meetings - and of course some of the nuts and bolts of research
such as lit searches, data entry and some copying etc. Students must have good attention to detail
and be very reliable.
We are located off campus in the research park. Parking is available and we are on the busline.
