The ACIPS

DESCRIPTION

The Anticipatory & Consummatory Interpersonal Pleasure Scale

(ACIPS; © Gooding & Pflum 2011) is a brief, self-report measure of hedonic capacity for social interaction and interpersonal engagement in both nonclinical and clinical samples.

INTENDED USES

The ACIPS was developed primarily for research use.    The scale must only be used for professional, scientific, or clinical purposes; it is not for commercial use.  Use of this measure for commercial purposes may violate copyright legislation.  Intellectual property ownership of the ACIPS rests with the researchers who developed the test.

Full acknowledgement of the authors as the source of the material must be given when using the scale.

ADULT and ADOLESCENT VERSIONS available

There are two forms of the ACIPS: one intended for adults, i.e. individuals aged 18 and above; and one intended for younger adolescents (aged 13 throughf 17). A beta version of a child version is under development, for children aged 7 through 12.

TRANSLATIONS of ACIPS available

The ACIPS has been translated in consultation with the primary developer of the measure.  Dr. Gooding has worked carefully with the translators, encouraging the use of back-translation by native speakers as a way of checking the quality.

The following translated versions of the ACIPS are currently available:  Chinese, Danish, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portugese, and Spanish (European Spanish, as well as American Spanish).
