NAMI HelpLine Internship Information Session

November 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Interested in gaining meaningful experience in the mental health field while still an undergraduate student?

Join us for a virtual information session with a NAMI HelpLine recruiting manager to learn about opportunities to support individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through the NAMI HelpLine. The session will primarily focus on the NAMI HelpLine Information & Referral Specialists Internships, with brief information about additional volunteer opportunities.

Friday, November 20th
Noon-1pm CT

Location: Zoom (link provided upon registration)

During this session, you’ll:

  • Learn about the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the NAMI HelpLine, and internship and volunteer opportunities with the HelpLine
  • Understand training, time commitments, eligibility requirements, and application procedures
  • Discover how this experience can strengthen your resume and prepare you for careers in the mental health field

The NAMI HelpLine Internship is a remote, unpaid opportunity for students currently enrolled in an academic program. Interns receive extensive training and mentorship while developing skills in active listening, empathy, resource referral, and mental health support. The program requires a commitment of approximately 8 hours per week for four months.

This event is especially valuable for psychology majors and any student interested in gaining hands-on experience in mental health support, developing helping skills, and exploring careers in psychology, counseling, social work, healthcare, and related fields.

Bring your questions and learn how you can get involved!
