Patricia Coffey is a forensic psychologist and UW-Madison Department of Psychology Teaching Professor. Dr. Coffey has extensive experience conducting evaluations for adult and juvenile courts. In addition, she has provided treatment for victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Her professional journey stems from a deep dedication to using evidence-based methods to address violence and its resulting trauma, focusing on both successful interventions for offenders and supportive strategies for survivors. In 2014, she started working full time in the UW-Madison psychology department. She currently teaches a psychology of crime course, a community-based learning course “Issue in Prisoner Reentry,” and an Introductory Psychology course at Oakhill Correctional Institute. Coffey has also helped train clinical psychology PhD students in forensic assessments. She enjoys teaching and providing community-based learning opportunities for students interested in criminal justice and/or clinical service related careers.
