Professor Martha Alibali has been selected to receive the American Psychological Association’s 2025 Division 7 Developmental Psychology Mentor Award. The award honors individuals who have contributed to developmental psychology through the education and training of the next generation of research leaders in developmental psychology. The APA states that their “interest is in recognizing individuals who have had substantial impact on the field of developmental psychology by their mentoring of young scholars.”
A professor in the Departments of Psychology and Educational Psychology, Alibali conducts research at the interface of developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, and mathematics education through her Cognitive Development and Communication Lab. She is also the Associate Chair for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Department of Psychology.
