Vilas Research Professor and the Sir Frederic C. Bartlett Professor of Psychology Morton Ann Gernsbacher recently received the 2021 Psychonomic Society Clifford T. Morgan Distinguished Leadership Award, an honor that recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the field of cognitive psychology, who have been in the field for 10+ years, and who have demonstrated sustained leadership and service to the discipline.
An award-winning teacher whose open-access, active-learning undergraduate courses were deemed APA’s 2018 Outstanding Educational Resource, Gernsbacher is, in the words of a colleague, “truly a force of nature.” For nearly 40 years, her research has investigated the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underlie human communication. Her research bears both basic science implications and national policy applications.
Congratulations, Professor Gernsbacher!
