Professor Emeritus Leonard Ross dies at 92

Leonard Ellis Ross, 92, professor emeritus in the Department of Psychology, died March 15, 2023, at Oakwood Village West in Madison, Wisconsin.

Ross served as a sergeant in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War before returning home and earning a PhD from the University of Iowa in 1959. He came to Madison that year as a Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin until retiring emeritus in 1992. Ross authored many articles and book chapters, won teaching awards, and completed important research on the effects of alcohol when flying.
