What are some of the benefits of your psychology degree?
Acceptance to a top-tier graduate school (Rutgers) for school and clinical psychology, cutting-edge research experience, and publishing with Dr Richard Davidson, Dr. Hill Goldsmith, and Dr. Ahalya Hejmadi on human development, emotions, and the universality of emotions. Study abroad for two semesters in Seville, Spain.
How did you find your way to your current profession?
Working as a school psychologist, networking with psychiatrists, neurologists, pediatricians, school districts, and clinicians. Giving free talks and workshops to schools and community centers. Running groups for individuals with disabilities and/ or social issues. Chairing committee for special education.
What advice would you give to students graduating with a psychology degree?
Explore your options and get involved in the community at schools, clinics, hospitals, and medical facilities. Talk to others in the profession. Do research with professors in Wisconsin and travel to other countries. Journal everything you do.
